Prevention of skin cancer in Georgia – the introduction into practice of dermatoscopy and optical diagnosis of skin, promoting
2012 - at the initiative of the members of the association was presented a project e-Health and m-Health applications for Teledermatology – algothythm-based original software for dermatoscopy-based diagnosis and patient monitoring. For the diagnosis was intended the use of the newest methods of digital dermatoscopy and a new evaluation algorithm. In 2013 the project was presented to competition jointly organized by jCRDF-Global, Rustaveli National scientific foundation and Georgian scientific-technological development foundation ( SSGF). Winning the competition, the project was implemented in Tbilisi in the medical center “Marjani” and in Kakheti and Ajara regions of Georgia.
As well, in the project took participation NGO “Partners for Health”. With their help was established the management information system - electronic medical record ( case history) and electronic register.
April 10-12, 2014 - members of association and physicians of medical center “Marjani” participate in the exhibition " Georgian innovations and inventions for business” provided by Georgian Agency for innivations and technologies hold in “Expo Georgia”
September 26, 2014 – in Georgia was the 1-st International conference “Dermatoscopy, skin optical diagnosing and mobile teledermatology” dedicated to innovative methods of early diagnosis of skin oncological diseases. At the conference were presented the results obtained during the project performing. Invited from Austria and Poland colleagues gave a lecture-presentation on the possibilities of optical and mobile teledermoscopy.
It is also important, that the founders of the association prof. N.Kiladze and T.Shulaia carried out a Russian edition of the book of prof. Harald Kittler “Dermatoscopy. An Algorithmic method based on pattern analysis” which was published in the end of April, 2014
April 16-18, 2015 –with the status of the guests of honour at the fourth world Congress of Dermoscopy IDS, Vienna, were invited the founders of the Association Teona Shulaia and Natalia Kiladze, they informed the international colleagues about the results of the project studies and the conditions of dermato-oncological morbidity in Georgia. The topic of report was: “Screening of skin cancer in Georgia”.
May 12-14, 2016 – in Tbilisi was hold the 2-nd International conference “ Modern aspects of dermatology and dermatoscopy in optimization of skin diseases diagnosing”.
The conference was supported by international organizations: School of Medicine, University of Queesland, Brisvane, Australia and Depert. of Dermatology Medical University of Vienna. In the frames of the conference was hold seminar-master class “School of dermatoscopy – skin cancer” provided by foreign colleagues: Philipp Tchandl ( Dep. of Dermatology, Medical University of Vienna), Cliff Rosendahl (University of Queensland, Australia) and Simon Clark (New Zeeland) which was very interesting and important for practitioners. In the conference participated physicians of different medical specialties (dermatologists, oncologists, internists etc.), ministry officials and representatives of medical society not only from Georgia, but as well from abroad: Jean-Yves Gourhant (France), Cengizhan Erden and Nisa Bengu Akay (Turkey), Philipp Tchanl (Austria), Cliff Rosendahl (Australia), Simon Clark (New Zeeland), Vitaliy Khlushchok, Tatiana Sviatenko, Andrey Yarka, Sofia Panchshyn and Vira Tkachuk (Ukraine).
September 16-17, 2017 – in Tbilisi will be held the 3-rd international conference and seminar “ School of skin cancer – dermatoscopy advances in dermatooncology” which is supported by University of Queesland, Brisbane, Australia and Depart. of Dermatology Medical University of Vienna.
Topic of conference: modern aspects of dermatoscopy, dermatoscopy as innovating method of diagnosing, monitoring, prevention and surgical aspects of treatment. Participants and speaker of the conference are leading expert in different medical field – dermatologists, morphologists, surgeons, oncologists from United States, Austria, Australia, France, Turkey, Poland, Grate Britain and Ukraine.
